RTMS

TAC applies a road management system (RTMS) accredited by the SA National Bureau for standards in accordance which TAC is committed to the following:

1. Preservation of the road infrastructure,
2. Improvement of road safety and
3. increased productivity of the internal logistics strategy.

TAC continually strives to improve on the way in which it conducts its business while ensuring road safety through the proper maintenance of its fleet.

Drivers employed are required to have 5 years driving experience on code 14 (EC) vehicles and are then trained for a further 3 months before being allowed an own truck. Refresher training are continuous with the focus on:

1. Safe driving techniques
2. Loading and off-loading techniques
3. Fatigue management
4. Risk management
5. Fuel management
6. Client relations

Drivers are the face of TAC and are in charge of invaluable vehicles while on the road.  The emphasis is on the duty of care towards vehicles and timeous delivery of said vehicles to the correct destination.
